I would like to provide an update on our school’s bond-funded construction. I previously shared information with you regarding our construction timeline and the possibility of transitioning to a construction calendar next year.
I want to let you know that our construction project has been delayed for now and we will not need to be on a construction calendar next year.
At Virginia Court, we are making great strides in student growth and achievement. It is important that we continue to keep our focus on our students and the great learning that happens at Virginia Court every day. Keeping our school on the regular calendar next year as opposed to a construction calendar will help us continue to build on our momentum.
Another factor for this construction delay is Blueprint APS, the district’s long-term facilities and educational planning process. At this point, the APS Board of Education is reviewing community input and working with district leadership to develop a long-term plan. The Board’s direction on Blueprint APS may impact planning across our district.
In addition, there are several other large bond-funded construction projects at schools that will begin next year. Due to a significant shortage of construction workers, APS has had to shift timelines of several projects to accommodate the current construction landscape.
I appreciate your continued commitment and support for our school. Please feel free to let me know if you have additional questions.
